Favorite Genre After Prog?
I’ve always been a big fan of 80’s music. Especially AOR. I find Neo-Prog a close cousin to AOR.

oh so many genres! In no real order, I like Nordic tribal, such as Heilung, Skáld, Dannheim (courtesy of my wife ). Always been a fan of big band, ala Stan Kenton. Then depending on mood, Lords of Acid or even Enigma. And who doesn't like flamenco, thinking Ottmar Liebert here.

Wow, depends on the day...
Jazz-Fusion, Funk, Reggae, early punk.
My neighbors must be confused when I'm playing Funkadelic one afternoon and Dead Kennedys the next day, and The Flower Kings the day after.

It depends on my mood. Sometimes it is dark industrial and I might move over to heavy metal or gothic types of tunes. I have some horror movie soundtracks or soundtracks in general. Then I will be attracted to modern swing. Or jump over to some stoner doom type music. Sometimes symphonic metal but in small doses.

I was a metalhead for the most part before I discovered Progulus all those years ago. I still listen to a variety of metal, but not the crazy black/death stuff I liked in HS/College as much. Also have some interest in folk music/folk rock and contemporary classical stuff like Takenobu and Lindsey Stirling. Some electronica, once in a while, too.

I also like the Romantic Era and Classical Era Symphonies and Concertos. For me, Prog has a lot in common with those Eras in style. Especially with Epics.

I have been dabbling into Metal Core a bit with Ice Nine Kills lately

I've been into Synth/Retro Wave since the time Stranger Things came out. That 80's vibe always gets me and it's been really interesting watching the genre explode with new artists. After that I like video game scores these days. Kind of in the vein of Tangerine Dream on the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack.
