I just tested the upload/download speed on our internet service and it's clocking at 682/1314kbs... seems like there should be plenty of wiggle room there to support the stream. I let me try one other thing.

What time does the skipping usually stop again?

One temporary solution would be to put the station into backup mode between about 3pm and 10pm. During this time you wouldn't be able to make requests, but at least you could listen to a clear stream. Backup mode is music that I've uploaded to Live365 so it plays directly from them and is not relayed like our normal live stream. "Backup mode" has 40 hours of music right now (mostly 2008-2009 releases) so there's plenty of variety. Let me know what you think. In the meantime I have a trouble ticket in with Live365, and I'll contact my ISP to see if they can tell me what's going on.

If it's mostly recent releases, I'm totally for it.

Small thing, but in the spirit of keeping the database accurate... :)

Firewind shows up with a country code of SI (Slovenia according to ISO), but according to their website they are from Greece.

Love the music!

The last song, Lepidoptera Part IV [Play possum, Preparation, Departure, Migration, Release], from Rak's album Lepidoptera seems to have some skipping at the end. I believe its around the last 3 or 4 minutes it starts skipping forward. At least thats what it sounds like to me.

I know this is a new to the station cd but on Budgie Squawk, I think Drugstore Woman and Bottled should be joined as one song ...just a thought thanks

There is skipping in several songs from Chris Squire "Fish Out of Water".

I noticed it at the beginning of the track "Silently Falling".

On Porcupine Tree-Coma Divine, the first song Bornlivedieintro needs to be combined with the next song, Signify. Hal picked it tonight on a 2fer Saturday after my PT request and I felt ripped off....cause it really isn't even a song at all! THANKS!

Also, later tonight, HAL picked Live For A Moment (Bass Solo) (1:24) by Sunchild-The Invisible Line. Cool solo, but also needs to be combined with either the song before or after it.

And just as I was writing this, HAL did it again, twice!! Karmakanic- Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major (1:03) and Saga-Entracte (:49). Hal must not be a true prog fan...he doesn't like the long songs! Anyway, all those little snippets of music need to be combined with other songs, I think.... :D

That's odd because the shortest track in HAL's song pool is 2:43... it must be somehow related to the Saturday 2-fer script. I'll look into it. I don't necessarily agree that all short tracks should be merged into other songs, either. For me it only makes sense if the two tracks naturally flow together and both sound like part of the same song idea.

Yeah, I agree with you on that, scout. But often, those really short tracks just don't sound right alone either. Perhaps some of them were designed to flow into another song, but probably not all are. And these songs I mentioned...I don't really know them or the other songs on these albums well, so maybe I shouldn't have said they should all be merged... but I am sure you'll make the correct judgement on them. But PT Coma Divine...definitely needs to be merged. :D
