Hard Times for Guitarist Eric Gales :(
Hey folks,
So here I was looking for stuff on YOUtube when I came across Guitarist extraordinare' Eric Gales 1st
Video, for the song "Sign of the Storm": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HB5A8E1BRVE&feature=related
He was about 18 when he recorded that album, and was-albeit a bit pressured, to be the next Hendrix and
SRV. But it never really happened, he was respected by his peers but never caught on with an audience
fickle and looking for the next Pop star.
To my utter shock, I saw this Video:

After a bit of Googling, found this:

I hope this guy can somehow, take a few steps back, and look at what he had, and more importantly-
has to offer the World, and get out of that "Bluesman Stigma/Curse" and find that "Resurrection"
that he and Band played and sang all those years ago.

Eric Johnson and Eric Gales:

I hope he finds strength and lets his Guitar do all the cryin'

That guy's pretty good MAV; I haven't come across him before. I used to be heavily into Blues Rock when I was younger, still am to a certain extent though I don't hunt down new (to me) bands any more.
Think I might listen to some Kenny Wayne Shepherd... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ti-72KavxHQ&feature=related

 Haha, Mr. Arjen wrote . . .
Hehe . . .
I wrote under the Vid last night:
"AW MAN!!! Just that little taste of those Keys were awesome!!!! Hmm . . . Could the Title of the Album include Sci-Fi Films that I wanted to hear, "Bladerunner" and "Brainstorm"??? (maybe even "Silent Running")"
Arjen responds:
"I'm not allowed to tell you yet, damn! But I have a feeling that you won't be disappointed "

Evergrey say goodbye to Jari, Henrik and Jonas
A little slow here...
In May Henrik and Jonas (guitar and drums respectively) have come to a mutual decision with Tom and Rikard to leave Evergrey. Apparantly it is due to personal differences that have come up in the past year or so. Jari (bass) meanwhile has decided to leave Evergrey to go to Killing Machine as he will get a bigger pay cheque with them. Sad times. Still, as Tom is the main man behing Evergrey, I am sure they will be back ina year or two with a new album to please the ears.

Kamelot new album: Poetry For the Poisoned Previews!
In three weeks, Kamelot will be hitting the shelves once again with their latest album, "Poetry For the Poisoned."
Don't want to wait to hear the music? Well, there's two videos on youtube that provide small samples of the album (about 10-20 seconds of each song).
Credit to Maylenthefallen, who made the two videos. Go forth now and enjoy the little teasers we have for the next three weeks!

 Kamelot Music Video Released!
An update from my previous post:
Kamelot has posted their new music video "The Great Pandemonium" all over the web (but apparently not yet on youtube?), and I must say it's a thing of beauty.
The song and MV feature the cast of Kamelot, and also features Soilwork's vocalist Bjorn "Speed" Strid as the "demonic" vocals in the song.
To view it, just look here:

Kamelot singer falls ill, North American Tour To Go On!
Quote:The band and crew are all here in Tampa rehearsing for the tour – Visas have been cleared and the guys are in good spirits and ready to party with all of you. However, during rehearsals, Roy became severely ill. Due to this, as yet undiagnosed, illness, Roy reluctantly has been forced to head back home to Norway. He is currently under his physician’s care, but unfortunately these circumstances will prevent him from joining us on the North American concert tour. Of course, we want Roy to take care of his health as priority one for now and for the future. After much consideration on how to proceed, all of us in Kamelot feel strongly about keeping our commitment to our fans, promoters, and support bands on this tour! We are all ready and excited about playing these shows, we have flown in people from around the world to be apart of it and it has been in the works over a year! Therefore, we are working diligently with a fantastic singer willing to step in at the eleventh hour in order to make this tour a reality – our good friend Michael from Circus Maximus (Norway) has agreed to fill in for Roy! And we are excited to announce a special guest: Swedish vocalist Elize Ryd from Amaranthe will be joining the band on the North American Tour. She will also be part of the VIP meet and greet! Elize toured with us on our Summer Pandemonium Tour and also the European tour earlier this Spring. Also as a special thank you to our North American fans, our friends at ESP guitars have donated a beautiful ESP guitar which will be signed by Thomas Youngblood and given away at the end of our North American tour – this contest is open only to North American tour concert goers. Fans can enter for a chance to win this exclusive item by signing up in the designated area at each show! More surprises are in store at many shows including special guest appearances and more.”

Hopefully this turns out to be a minor and treatable illness for Roy. It is a bit frustrating that I will have to miss him for my first Kamelot concert in a few weeks, but his health has to come first. It will be at least interesting to see Michael Eriksen sing in person. Maybe the Kamelot guys will let him sing a Circus Maximus tune or two.

^Sucks about Roy, wish him the best wishes.
But Michael Eriksen of Circus Maximus is definitely an excellent replacement! Although it won't be the same as Roy...
